POEMS - written by Joon

Be Happy Today

Do not think you will be happy later,
But be happy right now.
If you spend today with happiness,
You will be happy in your next days.

The one verse of the Bible
Which you read before you sleep,
Gives you the key of new day.
When you wake up at every morning,
Meet a day with throbbing and admiration.

The Wind

The wind from the mountain is cool,
Good and graceful.
When the woodcutter is working in summer,
Washes the sweatof his forehead.

The wind from the river is cool,
Good and graceful.
If the boatman sleeps while he is rowing a boat,
Rows ahead it instead of him.

Bethlehem

Boys and girls are waiting for Christmas.
Everybody is waiting for Christmas.
Trees are decorated with shiny lights,so
How bright are our minds with gratitude!
Love overflows all over the world,
Everywhere is filled with joy.
Holy night, silent night,
Everybody's heart is filled with happiness,
My heart is filled with love for Jesus.

Prayer about Humbleness

Make the words we say everyday to be fragrant,
Hope our words remain in our neighbors' heart,
And hope those words will be a flower of joyfulness and a song of peace,
So this world we live in could be brighter than now.

Make us and make our hearts be pure,
And make us not speak the words that hurt people.
Make us take care of our words
By your water of wisdom from the well of silence and prayer.
Put a sweet scent of humbleness
into the words we speak.

 Who Am I?

The first son and first grandson in his family,
So always receive his parents' love and hopes.
Sometimes their hopes on him is too heavy for him,
But always tries to answer their expectations.

He is crazy about the computer game,
And enjoys reading a book and watch the movies,
Has the black belt in Tae Kwon Do,
Doesn't like exercise,
Loves a dog very much.

He doesn't know yet which person he really would be,
But always tries to be honest, also wants to be trustworthy,
he knows his parents' pray for him,
So tries to obey his parents,
But sometimes it is hard for him.

Studies hard and tries his best till his dreams will come true.
Really wants to see his parents' smile
when he becomes to be their proud son.
Heavenly Father, please help me be faithful everyday.

  1. Joon, my son!
While I was reading your poems, I thought about the early days of our immigration. How can we forget the past days when we were in such troubles? It was really really hard for you to adjust to life in this country, right? You never tried to understand why you were supposed to sing American National Anthem or express your respect to American Flag. You're absolutely at puberty.
Anyway, you endure all the severe trials of your teens. I am proud of you!
Also I am grateful to God who always guides you onto the right path.
